I think you’re generally right *but* I think many more men think they are romantically disadvantaged than actually are, and also straight men have more ways to make up for physical disadvantages than straight women

I agree, but how is that a way to make up for physical shortcomings? I thought you had something like "be rich" or "build muscles" or things of that type in mind.

Oh I mean yeah, I think status can definitely improve a straight man’s desirability, but I also mean stuff like charisma, humor, interesting hobbies etc

partly, I think, there's always a gap between "I want to be desired by EVERYONE" and "I want to be desired by this person in particular" and then the reality of "I am desired by some cool people"
