I’ve waded into the “is PMC a coherent category” debate before, but I have a new contribution—when people say PMC, they mean someone who has a LinkedIn account

Once again I am telling everyone that when someone uses the term PMC for the vast majority of the time they simply mean "that bitch from HR." Next most common case they're really neurotic about being white collar not blue. Finally just weird issues regarding being in academia/academia adjacent.

Huh then I don’t count again (unless refusing to have one as an affectation makes it count again)

That definition would rely on a pretty outdated conception of who is on LinkedIn. I just picked a generic name out of a hat:

I’m not even joking, I think this is a more coherent definition than I’ve seen argued elsewhere

What if you have a Linkedin account but don't remember your password?

“someone who has a LinkedIn account (complimentary)” or “someone who has a LinkedIn account (pejorative)”
