Wow, those tomatoes look fab. How many plants do you have per pot?

I have 6 pots, all bush variety and it’s 1 plant per pot. I normally thin the leaves out but I’ve not been well enough so am reliant on my non gardening partner.
That's where I've gone wrong this year. For half of my tomato plants I put two plants per pot & the pots were smaller than yours so they didn't get enough nutrients from the soil. Oh well. I have seeds left over for next year..
Best to stick with 1 per pot. I get loads off a single plant. Not sure why I did so many this year as I’m not supposed to eat anything acidic 🙈
I will do one per pot next year. I have enough seeds for about 20 plants, so fingers crossed the harvest will be better.
Do you feed them ? Ive reused the same compost for last 3 yrs , with a small top up but I add a big handful of grow more at planting and feed twice a week soon as fruit sets.
I top up the pots with new compost, but I only fed them once every two weeks, so another mistake by me there. Thanks for the tip!
I saw a programme the other week where a commercial grower had them growing really high up in what looked a bit like guttering. Kind of dangling upside down and No compost at all, I guess water and feed are the key. Fascinating.
Oh, some kind of hydroponic setup? I've found this year, all my home grown stuff has tasted much better than the supermarket stuff. The harvest hasn't been that good but what has grown has been great.
Just goes to show toms don’t have to taste of water. Used to love the big tomatoes you got on holiday in Spain but even they don’t taste the same anymore . I’d rather have a small crop of tasty stuff than loads of bland.
I kicked over seed trays and just put anything edible near stepping stones The fkin pigeons and dogs rearranged em lol Plenty of dead wood to move from @brexitpirates.bsky.social big chop up 😆
Ooo.. Lots of wood. Handy if you have a log burner..
The bit where the big overgrown bush is will become the fire pit and burn out the fkin evergreen overgrown jasmine. I'm putting girl cave along side fence so baby chainsaw gonna be busy
Direct him to take some of the leaves off. They might enjoy pruning more than the planting etc. I do
He’s learning. He doesn’t mind with anything that doesn’t require kneeling down. Knees are shot. I’ve sent him off with bags of apples, plums and toms for friends and neighbours.
Good idea I like fried green tomatoes Ironically I bought a multi pack of tinned Tom's cos I love them and use in so many things The cherry ones doing great Black ones too!
Oooh black ones. I’m having to ripen indoors but it doesn’t take long and they’re delicious. I normally grow a couple of cherry that get ravaged but didn’t bother this year. Lesson learnt, will grow them as sacrificial next year as I don’t normally have problems.
