I think the strategy is to throw out so much back-and-forth bullshit that the average person's eyes will glaze over trying to follow, and supporters will be able to mentally-bin the whole event as "the court being mean and confrontational."

If Judges have legal grounds to sanction major officials but slow-walk the process, they’ll be doing us all a huge disservice. When the Trump administration refuses to enforce sanctions against itself, rule of law is plainly over. The sooner we all see that, the sooner this goes to the streets.
