No. Oligarchy never had real power in Russia. Perhaps only 1994-1996. FSB and Yeltsin's clan were in power and since 1999, only FSB clan has the real power, everything else are just top managers and elites. Russia is not an oligarchy, it's a totalitarian empire.
Yes of course. The notion that oligarchs, the FSB, and elites in Ruzzia ever colluded to strip wealth and 'real' power from the people of Russia is absurd. Just as it is absurd that Stalin died in a dacha no peasant could ever aspire to live in except as a servant.
They did not collude -- they did not need to collude. They already had everything they needed, but more money and more power.
I think you and I Banepa, are arguing the same thing. Whether collusion or force, the distinction is too fine for their victims to appreciate.
