Friendly reminder: Dems DID shoot Lieberman out of a cannon. They primaried him out of office in 2006, only for him to win on an independent bid after the Dem and Rep split the vote. Then Dems had no choice but to caucus with him. Also, if you believe the rumors - McCain wanted him for VP.

I only knew it as a rumor, because I never read McCain's book. But it doesn't surprise me. The RNC chose Palin because they thought that Dems were going to have a PUMA problem. But Hillary saved the country when she released her delegates at the convention and asked them to vote for Obama.
This would be a lot more convincing if Obama and Hillary hadn't endorsed Lieberman in that 2006 primary. ctmirror.org/2018/10/01/o...
