The evil empire of Magalote in my worldbuilding is half Christofascist Theocracy and half Roman/Babylon/Philistine society. With a cruel, twisted pantheon of a Satanic/Antichrist figure and his 13 demigod servants (an inversion of Jesus and the Apostles, or the 12 Olympians).
The Magalotian Social & Belief system demands child/animal sacrifice, flagellation, sales of indulgence, corporal punishment, slavery, a class/caste hierarchy, witch/book burnings, child/animal labor, anti-intellectualism, plantations, prison labor, nationalism, xenophobia, etc.
