Aside from the awful food and their caving to whiny losers, here’s another reason to avoid Cracker Barrel: they scrapped DEI. Scrubbed their website of all that wasn’t lily-white cisgender. www.wate.com/news/cracker...

Ridiculous.
And their food is terrible
Yeah, they could at least have had a small group of people of different races (other than the pumpkin-colored race) in rocking chairs vs 1 elderly, presumably, white straight person. But if the new (now, old) sign was the best they could come up with, then #CrackerBarrel couldn't even IMAGINE that.
Nothing in the known universe is quite as fragile as the White ego. Cracker Barrel is for for narrow-minded nostalgia folks who can't handle reality. It's what they serve with every meal...
I have eaten there a few times in my life, & I have to say, it's just not good. I just thought it was lots of unseasoned mushy stuff. I just never understood why some people love it.
Shepherd's Pie? Country Fried Pork Chops? Dumplings? Fried Chicken? I'm relieved that I don't have to start eating there to support the new spine that they grew for three days
So the manufactured outrage by rage farmers on the right missed the big picture? Count me as shocked... not.
The food is not awful. It's not. It was a regular carryout of mine. The sauteed trout is excellent. But now that they've decided to cater exclusively to bigoted assholes, I'm going to find a different carryout. FUCK Cracker Barrel.
My post, my opinion. We thought that it was bland.
A lot of it is, just like any other corporate restaurant. Bland is not terrible, it's just designed for old people. I'm an old person, but I have culinary skills. And their fish is superior to other corporate chains. But just like I can't watch anything with John Voight, I won't eat there anymore.
I get all these posts in opposition, I’m with you, but the food is not that bad. Be fair.
As gay men, my husband and I spent 30 years boycotting Old Country Buffet, only to eat there for the first time last year. Oh well, the chicken and dumplings were good, but we’ll have to do without for another 30 years. www.salon.com/2023/06/12/b...
It’s subjective. We ate there on a road trip with the kids. They liked it, but we didn’t. Never went back. Not impressed. I’m aware that some people like it. I’m expressing my opinion in my post. (I’m from Manhattan, ex from DC. That might explain things better.)
👈obviously white AF, love biscuits and gravy, and I’ve never been in a Cracker Barrel, probably won’t either, no major declination just not interested, dig local homegrown eateries that truly reflect my community
