It really is common, if you ask around - they just stall to keep the numbers down. Despite having to have my foot straightened in A&E, I did not get a MRI until I could barely walk 5m later and did not see a doctor with specific foot specialism, who finally diagnosed correctly, for over 6 months.

I can well believe it. I even remember an article in The Independent about thousands literally being removed from waiting lists to get numbers down. My last admission was after 30 hours in A&E.

Gosh, poor you. We've done the 12 hour waits a few times over the past couple of years, but 30 hours is dreadful.

Yeah, a record for me. I was actually unconscious when I was finally transfered to a ward. The ward made a complaint to A&E, and I made an independent complaint. Labour are deservedly toast.

I feel for you but this crisis was not caused by Labour. It took 14 years to destroy the NHS. How do you expect it to be fixed in one year? They have thrown £billions at it in an attempt to increase staffing levels.

They've also abolished NHS England to cut costs without replacement. Government cannot do that role.

Oh I agree with that, but what I don't have faith in is the current figures. Getting a GP appointment worse than ever and then you dont get referrals for months. The lists are shorter because you dont get on them.

That's dreadful! Their incompetence ends up costing the NHS more. If my friend had been kept in hospital long enough initially, she wouldn't have had 7 admissions in 18m. If my foot had been diagnosed with an MRI straight away, I'd be off their books by now. And Streeting thinks AI will solve it!

So sorry to hear it. Yes it really is all unbelievable. More costly in the long run in money and literally lives, too. Blows my mind. Hope you and your friend are on the mend x

Thank you. I'm fine (except for the limp!) My friend is going to be a long journey. I hope you get sorted out soon, too.
