At this point I don't distinguish between procedural rulings and 'merits'. It's blindingly obvious that the procedural rulings are meant to give cover to lawless activity.

Consider this alternative: Procedural rulings are a way to kick the can down the road on confrontation between branches. Pathological avoidance seems almost childish and certainly cowardly. But many Cons have been avoidant and cowardly. They're waiting for a deus ex machina.

It's indefensible because lives hang in the balance. But factually they might be correct. What are the odds Trump dies or is incapacitated before they have to rule on merits? What are the odds Pres. Miller and nominal Pres. Trump have a falling out? etc.

Between the immunity ruling, the deportation rulings, the rulings from 2 weeks ago, and the one yesterday allowing the firings to proceed, I think the majority is fully on board. As to confrontation between the branches, the court has sided with the Executive over Congress every time. They want this
