this is so Old Man Yells At Cloud but what’s with the rising trend in commercials of having someone sing a song poorly through the entire thing? First noticed it in those xmas Etsy commercials, then in the burger king ads, and now the worst offender is that horrible Rover ad. It’s an auditory hell.

My guess, especially after those stupid BK ads, was the idea of "if it's annoying enough, it'll get stuck in your head". Unfortunately some places really do think that makes you crave the product more: having a crap song stuck in your head. 😭😭😭
