LA Metro’s community meetings planned this week for Sepulveda Transit Corridor have been cancelled. According to what Nick Andert is hearing, there is a chance that LA Metro CEO Stephanie Wiggins may be trying to cancel the project.

Why? Because of federal funding? Would they try and move the funding to other projects? This is the most important transit project in the nation. This is insane.

What were the potential funding sources for the project? Are there cost overruns that eat up the 2025-26 funding? That's what I could see

Measure R/M (which can only fund Westside projects), federal, state. Since Garcetti left, there isn’t really a board champion for the project as there is for other projects, which may be one big issue for the project.

afaik the DEIR wasn't going to be released before these meetings anyway??? so it doesn't really make sense as an excuse? Unless that was secretly Metro's plan behind the scenes so it could be the first set of meetings where they could talk about things in more concrete terms?
