Went to a big box store to buy a replacement drive belt for a riding mower. Two years ago they were in the mid$50 dollar range. Today it was in the mid$70 range. Belts are made in India, cant for the life of me figure why it went up 50%.

I think here in LA the cost of housing is almost everybody's greatest source of stress. I can just manage my current lease on my salary, but if rent is increased next year I have to move. And I have a higher-than-average income, and rent in the 'cheap place'!

Here a 2-bedroom will cost from about $3000 at the cheapest to over $5000 for the ‘normal’. Tops out at way more than I make a year. A studio can be had for less than $2500 where I live. That’s ‘cheap’.
