Leverage the gun guy's disdain for the armed lunatic who's making him look bad and scaring the normies into gun bans. Get his buy-in on "here's how you get to be elite manly AR-15 man and how we keep crazy coward lunatic from getting one." Even Scalia said such regulations weren't out of bounds. 👇🏻

They'd be challenged and so far SCROTUS has disregarded entirely the militia half of the 2nd for an unfettered right to bear arms. But long-term, I'd work the courts like the right did abortion until we restore the militia requirement, such that having a "militia card" was required for gun owners. 👇🏻

"Militia card" would just be your voluntary membership in the county militia. You'd have an annual evaluation, testing, etc at the sheriffs (like getting a CHL), and the sheriff could call you up for local emergencies. Like a county national guard, but with far less time commitment. 👇🏻

Like, it would only be in rare cases of disaster or distress that county militia would ever be called up. So bad that the state guard isn't enough. A real "break glass in emergency" organization that is rarely, if ever, activated, and really just functions to do the annual testing. 👇🏻

We will never solve the gun problem peacefully without buy-in from the hundred million Americans who own four hundred million guns. Use the reasons they like guns to make their hobby like an exclusive club only the hottest people can enter. Address the human beings, not the inanimate objects. ✊🏻
