the film's aesthetic owes a lot to Villeneuve's "Prisoners" (the director admits this) because it never raises the camera above its suburban rooftops. it presses upon you. aside from exactly one astonishing sequence, which gives the film its title, and gives Josh Brolin a showcase. he's terrific
