It also liaises with its European equivalent trade organisation, ASD, and through them, with EASA, the EDA and the ICAO. It also manages the Farnborough Airshow every 2 years. It is not a secret organisation, although maybe not well known.

It would not be a surprise to hear that they represented their members interests when their facilities and people were being attacked by a particular group. It would be a greater surprise if they didn't.
