What makes #Uncanny stand out to me is the sceptism! It's not just a hocus pocus of ghost aficionado's, it's the psychology and the science, how the human mind can be affected by environment and misled. Ciaran is a brilliant foil to Danny's presentations. When explanations fail though.. hmmm!!!

I also love how professional Evelyn is. She may be a believer, but she still conveys a healthy dose of scepticism with her intelligent & informed responses. Some paranormal experts can appear frivolous or gullible, but she exemplifies rationality & is thus a perfect proponent for the subject.

Ciaran is excellent. So often, a sceptic can come across as patronising or even contemptuous. But Ciaran is so open-minded & his offerings are always thoughtful & measured. He never mocks anyone & seems genuinely interested - even willing to be proven wrong. He & Evelyn really are a dream team.

That's not to under-estimate Evelyn's contributions, she's really great! But often the spookiness speaks for itself, whereas #teamsceptic is always under pressure to provide a rational explanation. That dichotomy is what makes the series special.
