It's scary how close we came. I never thought in my lifetime I (we) would witness the destruction of a democracy so close to home. After WWII, the refrain was "never again," yet here we are. "If we don't learn from history, we're doomed to repeat it."

They banned Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale. That book used to be on assigned reading lists in school, we are going backwards

I saw that today. When I was a kid books that were sexually explicit were not accessible by children. I’m sure those rules have not changed so I think people are just up in arms because of the conservative hype.
