parallel to this thread and the research in the OP, i've noticed that people that use them for their writing start to talk like them it's like how people have gotten worse at navigation as computers have gotten better at it you offload your cognitive processes to tech and they WILL attophy

Having interacted with and edited some LLM-generated writing at my work (against my will, but I can't control others' processes), I've been finding my own report writing is being influenced by LLM structures (bullet points with. Capitalized Headings for each point...) even though I never use LLMs

yeah it's really not surprising language is a hella memetic process, whole reason it evolves the way it does is because we just glom onto it and play around with it in our own ways, pick up on words and phrases and pronunciations we enjoy
