Not sure if the government will back down on the YouTube exemption given the strong Google lobbying but may end up including Shorts or something because it was kind of a joke their TikTok ripoff wasn't included but TikTok is. www.theguardian.com/australia-ne...

Let's be realistic, this law isn't going to work unless adults are happy to hand over ID every time they use the internet.

It'll never really work, and will face huge opposition once adults realise the implications for them!

The MSM has been supporting her, but I'd love to see them sick of her once people realise how stupid and dangerous this bill is.

Honestly wonder if they've taken into account the variety of 13-15 year old boys capable of growing beards into their facial recognition technology.

Does the government realise younger kids use games as social media? Roblox etc is a virtual meeting space. It and other games that have online gaming where you mix with strangers should also be classified social media.

I wouldn't be surprised if Roblox ended up being included BC it has chat functions. The definition of social media is basically up to the minister. Games are supposed to be excluded but we shall see.

Most kids won't actually. This is one of the most popular myths going around but popularity doesn't make it true.

Yeah? I was a primary school teacher. And maybe it’s just that even the poorest kids in Canberra are smarter than average but somehow I think my experience can be generalised. Some will and they share. They know how to use VPN’s for a start. 🤔

Oh, I already have. Kids who crack parent passwords, undo child locks on TV’s, use VPN’s regularly. Parents or friends parents. Primary school kids. Thing is they don’t believe anything is impossible.

You're obviously determined to be right but let's see. A small minority might exhibit indefatigable determination but most won't, especially as the restriction technology adapts to their moves.

You struggle with being contradicted. It's a common problem.

You’re not contradicting me. You’re attempting to mansplain. And you’re very full of interpretations of what’s common. I find mysoginy is. Mute.
