Ivermectin kills parasites. Febendazole kills worms. Neither has any clinical effect on cancer. Yet on the JRE, Mel Gibson opined that they cured his friends. Rogan uncritically amplified it. This stuff gets people killed.

Unfortunately, there is no amount of sci comm that can change the minds of those who believe in podcasters over scientists and physicians. I am not optimistic of people in general.

Gibson has always been a looney and the only way I tolerated him was to separate his acting from him. Even that was tough because he is such an incredible asshole. Now I like maybe two of his movies & don't even bother to watch them. He can go fuck himself.

A few poor-methodology papers that concluded “worthy of further study” are being over-extrapolated by grifters. For personal gain. Always. Both types of drugs are being trialed in treatment resistant disease. Imidazoles (esp mebendazole) have been trialled decades ago now. But are not in usage.
