The result of the antivaxx movement is death for kids. Whooping cough can be fatal for young infants - it causes them to stop breathing. Kids can only be vaccinated at 6-8w of life. Before then, protection is provided by vaccinating mum during pregnancy.
If the US regains consciousness again, even for a brief moment. Use that moment to clamp down hard on social media misinformation. Regulate the crap out of it and make it so it cannot be reversed.

I was born a 3# 3oz preemie in the very early 1960’s. My mom told me the horror she went through when I had pertussis before I was old enough for the vax. She or my Dad held me as I whooped for days, praying I would make it. I wish she was still here to ‘splain the gift of vaccines to folks. ♥️
