I’m tired of Enterprises and hero ships. I want to see a midsized cruiser doing supply runs and patrols, while having to deal with the bureaucracy and politicking of the shipyards and the admiralty. Give me Patrick O’Brien in space.

Definately agree about Master and Commander in space. Russell Crowe would make a great admiral! But honestly I dont want inter-federation stuff. There is way too much naval gazing in modern ST. I'd be happy to never see another UFP ship or starbase except the hero ship. Give me new races and places.
