Should Portland homeowners pay, on average, $130 more a year to keep the city’s parks operational? That’s the question Portland city councilors will consider sending to voters in the fall.

I'll pay $130 a year to thwart the Republican assault on families, women, & kids - they want to shut down everything good about my city, everything good about this country
That's democracy in action. All the relevant issues need to be presented. This is where studies and research can help provide the facts. Getting outdoors for enjoyment is one of the most heathy things a person can do.
It's either that or people will have to pay park fees.
I wish we could cut the police budget to pay for that. Most people, even people who own houses, are facing economic hardship right now. That is gonna be a hard sell.
I'm ok with 11 bucks a month to keep parks open. I don't use them much, but I think they make the city more livable and attractive. And that money goes to keep park employees paid.
Thinking of moving to Portland and the parks were one of the draws for us. They show an investment in community that is an equalizer. As a potential buyer, I hope councilors know what a rare thing it is to have land set aside in urban settings for families.
Yes
I'd like to see the tax burden shift to corporations and wealthiest people, please and thank you.
Growing up there was a city park next door to my grandma and grandpa's house. In the early 70's it was gorgeous, kept up, but by the 80's it was run down never mowed, and an eyesore. Pay the money, it's worth the ~ $11 a month.
Not my circus, but from my own personal experience, parks and open space are hugely important. Locally, we pay a lot to support our parks (and especially schools). Worth every penny.
Worth it to me.
