Portland Mayor Keith Wilson has ordered city bureaus to change the wording for city programs that benefit minority groups to comply with President Donald Trump’s anti-DEI directives. The move marks the city’s most significant policy shift in response to Trump’s second term agenda.

Ugh, it'll just get worse later. I get not wanting to lose the money right now, but changing the names of things will surely turn into something bigger & worse.. Sigh. I miss PDX Women in Tech so much, but the local sponsors stopped funding DEI before Trump even got into office. 😢

Counterpoint: if the only change they’re making is to “wording,” that sounds a lot like shining Trump on and continuing to do things as they were before. I’d be fine with that.

Absolutely. I think the Mercury did a decent job at least making an attempt to put something up on each of the candidates, but I don't think they even thought to look at his company's page, which is kinda frustrating. Should be the first thing you're interested in when a CEO is running, imo.
