A great behind-the-scenes look at how a group of organized councilors made those strategic budget moves earlier this year. Also, RIP Yamhill Pub.

Yeah I thought the headline meant Yamhill Pub is closing
@councilorgreen.bsky.social will have questions when he runs for office again about his defunding the police vote. He has zero data on the efficacy of Portland Street Response, but he increased their funding.
i am a constituent and I do have a question for @councilorgreen.bsky.social on this topic: hey wasn’t it cool when you voted to expand funding for Portland street response?
I'm actually curious what "data on the efficacy of Portland street response" would look like? Or even what it looks like for other first responders.
It depends on the audience for the data. In housing nonprofit land, the data is supposed to show how many people they are keeping out of the donors' sight.
Portland State evaluated PSR a number of times and found it was effective and would be more effective with more support and resources from the city.
Councilor Green passed a budget that raised the PPB budget and added $2.2m to the Public Safety Service Area. Nobody defunded the police on this city council. I'm sure there will be people mad about both the misperception that I voted to reduce the PPB budget, and also that I voted to increased it.
Breaking the law, Mitch? www.wweek.com/news/2025/08...
They love breaking the law. Pretty sure multiple complaints are already being filed.
This is the way the progressive caucus talks about their peers..."Morillo: if he fails us. He is dead to me."
The same way most people talk?
We are in tough times, if you ain't with us, you're against us.🤘
As a Yamhill regular, please don’t scare me like that. They clean well enough there. Most have no clue there was a giant puddle of blood next to the jukebox from the stabbing 2 years ago.
Most of the city knows this, dude. Mostly because most of us have left our own puddles of blood in the floors in the Yammie at one time or another fighting nazis or each other. Shit, my crew did most of the graf on the walls and bathrooms and that was before the great reconstruction post cig-ban.
