The coles notes is "Imperium of Man are shitty Xenophobic Fascists" and everyone is all pretty shitty in their own way, but Rogue Trader lets you lean on Iconoclast which shows Owlcat understood the source material and lets you play actually good haha.

Imperium of Man is so clearly "Fallen" because like, they don't even understand their own technology anymore and have "Technomancers" that speak rites to make technology work because they are dumb and it's goofy and somehow I love it and undermining them by being actually good was fun!
