I don't have school-age children but I would pay more taxes for that. It's about the greater good.

I lived in Canada for a while. My effective tax rate wasn't much higher than when I lived in California. And childcare was $8 a day. Maternity leave was a year. And healthcare was nationalized. I miss those days.
