You missed something — he’s not naive, but is saying the government used the 2019 order as a plausible excuse for deporting him the first time even though they were ordered not to. The government’s sole goal is to not admit they deported an innocent person for no reason.

I understand his point of view, I just don't agree with it. It was clear before that point that the government wasn't working in good faith. Hell, the entire reason for the initial court case was _because_ of the bad faith actions the gov't already had taken! We should be past believing ICE's word

Yes, that’s what I’m trying to say:) It all is bad faith but Trump lawyers are trying to fool the American public into thinking they have *some* legal justification to deport with the 2019 order.
