I agree that all Nato countries have obligations under article 5 but I think that's for circumstances where a member country is attacked first. But I agree, being sanctimonious is a bad look.

yeah maybe i should clarify that i'm not saying !we're fucked, everyone panic! or even that i think there's a way to know what happens next. we don't know what we don't know. it's just extremely insensitive, and i've seen it said directly to scared americans. the automatic "good thing it's not us"
