@mrjamesob.bsky.social asking the question that nobody seems to be able to answer. Just why is it that 1 in 10 of the working age UK population are on sickness or incapacity benefits? Perhaps the government should find out. @lbc.co.uk #LBC

Maybe you need to look at reputable national sources. I'm sure you can find them on the Goc or ONS websites

I have been. Nothing much on government websites but it seems that extending retirement age influences the statistics so that'll be part of it. IFS says biggest increase is down to mental health claims although reasons for that are threadbare. Perhaps that's where the gov't should have started.
