all of it is unfortunate. No one *wants* any of it, but it is what we need. Sometimes you have to tear the house down to the frame before you can remodel. Sure, we'll be exposed to the elements and it'll come with a massive cost (literal & metaphorical) We must be ready to endure it.

Yes. Look at Ukraine. Strong and defying what the West thought was their capacity daily under much, much worse conditions.
