I’m confused. Even tho pardoned, don’t you still keep the conviction on record? She is not ‘presumed innocent’ if she still has the conviction?

She didn’t have a conviction. They dropped the charges and she gets a refund.

charges were not dropped. st. cyr was convicted on 2 felony counts: obstruction and interfearing and sentenced to prison. a pardon does not remove this from her record. in all other cases reaching court, judges have refused to order "refund".

I didn’t say it did, but article references the felony convictions being dropped. She appealed and was pardoned on appeal. Judge says she is no longer guilty in eyes of the law.

She appealed the conviction, and was pardoned during this. Therefore the judge approve the refund.
