I am all for Trans rights but I too have trouble squaring an adult male transitioning after puberty competing against females. Seems totally unfair. Surely we Dems can support Trans rights and come up with a way to talk about this issue.

You do not support trans rights if you call trans women and girls “adult males”. Thats disgusting bigotry. There is nothing unfair about trans women competing in women’s sports. Tonnes of medical studies have shown this. bjsm.bmj.com/content/58/1...

I agree my language concerning adult males was not correct to use. I apologize. There is an important distinction though for athletes transitioning after puberty. It does affect performance in certain sports that is a disadvantage to non trans females.

I appreciate the apology, and forgive you. You are right that it does, which is why there are strict medical prerequisites that transgender female athletes have to meet to even be eligible. You have to medically transition, and for a certain amount of time to mitigate androgenic advantage
