Mind wandering while dog walking; We understand the concept of zoomies but is there such a thing as a singular zoomie and if so should it be spelled with an IE or a Y

My headcanon for zoomies is that they have a combo meter that goes up with each zoom... y? ie?... which I think should be very relatable to most in this thread... :D
We refer to them in the plural since clustering together in a small animal makes them visible, a singular zoomie is too fast to observe. A Y would be more grammatically correct, but IE feels better to me. Idk if that helps narrow it down.

Singular zoomie. I am an authority on this matter.
Id go with IE, so zoomie. Y relates for me specificly with the ye sounds, like the twang at the end of 'try' or 'cry'
It's just a zoom
I don't know what a "zoomie" even is.
Its when pets, particularly dogs or cats, gotta go fast.
Oh.
It's like "measles" - it can only exist as a plural
Neither. The singular is a zoom.
Isn't the singular just zoom? "My cat did a zoom." Here's a photo of Nyusha contemplating zoomies. Or maybe just a zoom.
Singular would/should definitely be with a Y.
youtu.be/7RtvxKtXBao?...
now im wondering if it’s possible for a kitten to experience a single zoom
Zoomies is definitely a plurale tantum like shorts or binoculars. But I'd argue that yes, if a singular zoomy was a thing, it would be with a Y. In the same sense of Booby and Boobies, naturally.
zoom, the zoomie, zoomies.
When does one zoomie(y) start and end? It's kind of like being sad and saying you have a singular blue instead of the blues .
a zoomie is sneaky It's so fast and over so quick you'd never notice it if it didn't happen right in front of you then you really really notice it 👀
