Trump's abrupt firing of the labor statistics chief is one of the most dramatic examples yet. But his push for control has been evident all throughout his second term — and the individual headlines should be analyzed as part of a pattern. Otherwise, memories fade...

Books, removed from military academies. Names of civil rights leaders, erased from ships. History lessons, purged from museums. Transcripts, deleted from websites. But I see ample evidence that press attention and public pressure DOES make a difference 👇🏼

Just the other day, WaPo reported on the Smithsonian removing Trump from an impeachment exhibit. The whiff of scandal was so overwhelming that the museum issued a statement over the weekend denying any White House pressure and pledging to update the exhibit in the coming weeks. Sunlight mattered.

If an update only, the entire exhibit would be removed; including Jackson & Clinton. No, this is nothing more than placating trump and his definition of "anti-American ideology". Let me say what the Smithsonian leadership is too scared to say: TRUMP IS A THIEF, FELON & SEXUAL DEVIANT. #impeachx3

Snippet from the new plaque: "President Trump, the most popular president in American history, was twice improperly attacked with partisan Democratic impeachment attempts, but ultimately was completely and properly vindicated by the Senate."

Why do it if not pressured by the White House? Why would they only remove trump’s impeachments from the display & leave the others? Their denial doesn’t make sense.

“I’m a frame person,” Trump said Tuesday during a meeting with his Cabinet. “Sometimes I like frames more than I like the pictures.” Laughed off as "dementia", these comments are in fact admissions by Trump that he is a propagandist, i.e. "a frame person". apnews.com/article/trum...

My thought is Of course Smithsonian staff were told to make sure everyone knew the redactions originated in house There's probably a couple of pages in Agenda 2025 about different ways to maintain inplausible deniability
