These AI products are so not ready for prime time. And we are boiling our planet and pillaging the world’s intellectual property to let them loose on the world.

🎯 The amount of hype behind it is monstrous even by Silicon Valley standards. And a lot of guys with way too much money are fighting over how fast they can deploy it to schools to "disrupt" education.

AI/LLM -- Good teachers always have some writing exercises done in the classroom with the teacher checking as they work. It's the best way to catch plagiarism -- penny whistles don't make symphony sounds. Deans who recommend this shit for a kickback should be fired.

One of the great travesties of our time. AI is a threat to everyone and everything while offering us basically nothing of value.

The Alamy stock photography forum show some reasonable uses, but also examples where the program was confidentially wildly incorrect in identifying locations or items. Whoever programed this AI should be charged with manslaughter.
