I’d honestly rather spend my time lobbying lawmakers to properly fund education. I am a teacher myself, and while I love the spirit of all this, it’s morally wrong to expect educators to fund or find funding for basic supplies. Let’s teach without supplies and let the world see how that goes.

I agree with you. I really do, but this is where we are right now and these teachers need help. As a teacher, you know that. If we were in a perfect world schools will be fully funded and teachers would just have to walk in the door and everything would be there. that’s not the world we live in

And I really do appreciate your spirit here. I know you’re a good one doing a good thing. I just hate that we accepted this as the way forward. We have to fight for funding. This current reality works out super well for those who want to kill public education. Let’s stop accommodating them!

For 27 years, I’ve watched funding goes down and teachers fill the void. We didn’t solve the problem itself. We normalized a bad solution. Teachers need to draw a firm line. We already have a teacher shortage, and now young teachers are expected to fund raise, too? It’s nonsense and unsustainable.

It’s awful and you’re right it’s unsustainable on purpose. This was the point. Remember, they want to get rid of the department of education completely which would send private schools skyrocket and public schools would collapse
