School should be a safe place for kids, period. Unfortunately, you still have some teachers that are allowed access to children, that go around, damaging the psyche of children with their outdated views.

I spend my workdays in a blue-collar middle school. Things are better than you might expect. It's by and large uncool to target trans and queer, and there's a healthy subculture of them. Let's see what the next 4 years bring.

Honestly, I feel like I missed out on what school life should’ve been! I was stuck with neurotypical teachers who wouldn’t solve anything and classmates who just manipulated me. Now I’m left dealing with depression, anxiety, perfectionism, and PTSD. It’s so frustrating!
