Having a certain type of belief doesn’t make you a good or bad person. Just as many atheists get arrested for terrible things as those that are religious. It is just more fun and scandalizing when the religious folks do it because they are so sanctimonious and shove it in our faces.

Any Christian worthy of the name does good for the love of a benevolent god, not because they fear hell. Being a(n) (actual) Christian means emulating Christ, not avoiding being Satan.

'Not sure what the so-called "religious" right believe in. But, doing good isn't part of it. They sure don't believe in hell either, or they'd be acting a whole lot different. Thank FSM I'm an atheist. I feel bad that some of my actually religious friends are grouped in with the pretenders.

That's right ! Good and Evil are inside everyone. Waking up every day is your choice as to which one you decide to feed that day.

Let me impart a little bit of old person wisdom — ‘being good has absolutely NOTHING to do with religious beliefs, or the antithesis’. If you hold to any statement in life, hold to this. Being good, is simply the more difficult path.

I have a simple motto... Be good, for goodness sake. It's always served me well 😀

Of course, now, there are billions of factors that can interrupt this state of being. In some cases, religion can be a vessel, others it can be harsh discipline. The one thing we know for sure, is that blind belief benefits no one but those enforcing it. That can be religion if people allow it.

atheists don't need a religious proxy to tell them right from wrong. the religious think there is a hereafter but they still commit crimes or worse, do they really believe or is it just a talking point.
