Why would someone who's not a pedofile, who partied for years with a convicted pedofile fight so hard to block the release of the records on the pedofile's case while moving the convicted pedofile's girlfriend to a minimum security prison? (Asking for a friend).

I worked with many of them (though primarily the Defense pool) for many years. Mostly good people & professional, but as an institution/community they are, in my opinion, trapped in a bubble of flawed belief that the press must be neutrally objective rather than objectively accurate.
I am simultaneously heartened and dismayed that Ernie is finding PT employment to help sustain himself.
