Consider this Occam's razor explanation: The secessionists lost the civil war but never really capitulated. Using an election, a wannabe dictator & a right wing SCOTUS, (now that slavery being illegal and all), they'll settle for a legalized apartheid America. Too simplistic? Keep watching.
