I ADORE this movie! Thank you for this!
90s Kenneth Branagh was just so amazing. He’s had some moments in his later career, but he’s been closer to frozen peas than Citizen Kane since he split from Emma Thompson. Kind of makes me wonder if she was the real genius of their pairing.
(highkey convinced she was behind the camera more often than not during much ado)
I have often wondering this same thing
especially after sense & sensibility, right? it seemed obvious she knows what she's about!
I like him better as Mike Church than as Hercule Poirot.
VERY MUCH SO, in a just world we'd have at least two more Mike Church mysteries
...in one of which he grabs Poirot by the mustache and goes total Moe Howard on his ass.
I paid to see it in the theater and yep, it’s bonkers and fun.
i love this vastly unappreciated movie. robin williams was a revelation to me in that small role he had. going to dive into this piece now
Dead Again + Malice make a dandy twisty turny double feature
SCOTT FRANK 4EVER
I remember going to see this with my folks at a now-shuttered theater in Shrewsbury, NJ. We parked next to a car in which I'm about 95% sure there was a couple just full-on fucking. Terrific movie, though. Tremendous supporting cast as well....
📌
I saw it. I enjoyed it!
this movie is so fucking bonkers
The rewatch tonight was fantastic. Completely forgot how it ended! Hahahah. Great ride. Haven’t seen it since it was in theaters, I realized.
Watching this ASAP. Great piece
🙏
I own this one on VHS. It’s a delightful thriller with great cameos by Robin Williams, Andy Garcia, Hanna Schygulla, Wayne Knight, and more. I love all the little Citizen Kane references.
Ah yes, the movie that introduced me to both Branagh & Thompson.
hoopla has it for free
"A person is either a smoker or a non-smoker...the trick is to find out which one you are and be it" That line has always stuck with me.
i think of this line at least once a week
Geriatric Ninja Turtles Geriatric Ninja Turtles Geriatric Ninja Turtles 1990s make-up Aging power!
👏
Hell yeah man
thasssssright
I love this movie! And now I need to do a re-watch.
Wonderful appreciation of a delicious movie!!
I love this movie and haven’t thought about it in forever. Thank you!
Love that movie, but I hate that ending. ✂️ Tried a rewatch and still hated it. Great Robin Williams performance.
Oh my gosh I love this one!
Saw that my freshman year of college. Haven’t seen it since, but the over-the-top climax (giant scissors!) has stuck with me.
That was my only complaint - showing the scissors before Jacobi landed on them was a spoiler and broke the tension with a comic note. The camera should have shown Branagh dragging something but not the scissors themselves.
Good piece!
I love that movie!
Nice work, Jason.
Never seen it but this makes me want to.
Loved this piece. So many great small moments in this film – my favorite might be the one scene cameo by Campbell Scott, the little shrug he gives after he vaults the fence.
thank you and GOD YES
This is the least-loved tee in my shop, btw
That’s beautiful.
That, and the delicious moment where Derek Jacobi suddenly breaks into his I CLAUDIUS stutter
A real collaborative effort, where it has its own unique look just because test audiences were confused which scenes were flashbacks so they were made black and white, and Scott Frank had no intention of having the same actors just swap characters, which actually makes the twist more surprising.
Wow...a film I remember loving when I saw it (on VHS maybe?) and now that I see what the screenwriter has done!! Reminder I need to track down THE LOOKOUT
Great flick!
