Having had 2 C-sections, I can personally attest to the fact that there is no pain "during" the procedure. There are strange sensations when they're putting everything back in place, though. 🤢 The post-op pain comes after the epidural wears off, plus little lightning bolts under the incision line.

Different people have different experiences, even with the same surgeon and the same drugs.

Agreed. After I posted, I realized I should've said "I had no pain," but Bluesky doesn’t let you edit.

I had two c sections and felt no pain, but I listened to two episodes of this podcast on Friday and it became clear that a significant number of women have horrifically painful experiences.

Those poor women, that's awful! I haven't listened to the podcast but it sounds like we're fortunate to have had painless experiences.
