At this point whenever I see staff writers from the Atlantic shopping the “universities are hotbeds of radical leftists” narrative I just read it as “I didn’t get into a PhD program and I’m mad about it.” Yeah, you have to be willing to learn things if you want to go into academia.
i can't bring myself to read the article right now 😭 but it also seems like people are using the fact that conservativism is now whatever Trump says it is to discount how fundamentally conservative university leaders are- just because they maybe wouldn't have deleted the grant-funding institutions
They wouldn’t have deleted medical research institutions because they were making money off them, what are people not getting??
they have ALWAYS wanted to keep the parts of the government that helped keep them making millions of dollars in salaries, but ditch like, the pesky grad students trying to unionize and free speech issues they can't fully dictate to the satisfaction of their donors
