I think a lot of the 2024 vote was neither "core MAGA" nor committed anti-MAGA; it was more of a primal scream for disruptive change, a push for punishment over Gaza, COVID, etc., or an emotional desire for hypermasculine strength.

It's frustrating. Some Trump 2024 voters regret it - we can see this in the polls - but many still defend their vote. If the election were redone tomorrow, I am not 100% sure Harris would win. We of the anti-MAGA coalition still have a lot of work to do in building a durable majority.

FWIW I think the Right’s embrace of culture war politics was a big factor, but there were others - eg elite institutional failures, the rise of social media.
