The "Reuters social deception" contract is more DOGE idiocy, as this clip explains. The short version: 1. The DoD paid $9 million to the Thomson Reuters cyber security firm -- NOT the Reuters news service. 2. The contract was to develop DEFENSES against social deception attacks -- NOT to make them.

There's not enough room in the post to explain the relationship of Thomson Reuters Special Services to the Reuters news agency. Both are owned by Thomson Reuters. Substituting one for the other is like saying Lucasfilm runs rollercoasters because it's owned by the same company that owns Disneyland.
