Good riddance. Ernst is a traitor who knew better than to endanger her country by voting to confirm Pete Hegseth. Most of these Republicans know how to make more money behind the scenes than in the (now harsh) public spotlight anyway.
Unfortunately, this was a Republican decision because they saw her vulnerable seat threatened. Now they can trot out another yes man that doesn't have her shameful voting record and likely keep the seat red in the process. Iowans aren't the most informed voters. Hell, they're just ignorant magats!
Any candidate they replace her with is likely to be weaker than she is. The incumbency boost is not as strong as it used to be but it's not gone entirely.
But while they echo her rhetoric, they won't have her voting record. Iowans are typical rural white bigots with a bend against blue urban centers. I hope you're right, but Iowans will have to prove it. That's something they haven't done for two decades.
