Last year, I got an 8% (I think) COLA increase in my social security. My rent, based on income, went up 10%, and we all know what has happened to the prices of groceries, gasoline, utilities, clothes and every other basic need. I feel like I'm sliding into a pit.

A year ago our electric bill was 164.00 a month. In March, increased to 274.00 and when I asked for an explanation, was told it was a very cold winter and our usage was up. That was March not Dec-Feb.
