Horribly gerrymandered. Has been for decades. But this is about protecting the United States of America. Show US a better solution.

DO IT, JB.
Fucking do it. I won’t be able to stand being represented by Mary Miller for another term
Do it!
No choice. Look what their next door neighbor is doing. He has no choice. At. All. And the sooner, the better.
Who's the 'both sides' douchebag asking these questions?
Pritzger responding without hesitation or change in pitch seems the answer to a different question. I read the complete transcript and my deep edit suspicions were confirmed. This part of Ed O'Keefe's interview is near the end. www.cbsnews.com/news/jb-prit...
O'KEEFE:...is there any chance Illinois redraws its congressional lines before next year's midterm elections? PRITZKER: That's not something that I want to do...But...if Trump is going to force his will on the American...I think all of us have to think about what...we can do to counter that.
2) O'Keefe:..your map already gets an F from most good government groups for being gerrymandered. Would you wipe out all the Republican districts? PRITZKER:..it's not something that I want to do...And we're now going to see it in California, probably. I hope that it ends there.
3) I forgot to say that I didn't change the words but I did use ellipses to shorten posts. The adversarial interview that aired implies something altogether different.
4) Is the CBS content monitor already in place?
It ain’t off the table though Cue Dems crying we have to abide the rule of law or else we are just as bad as they are…
Go JB!
Why not?
Yes, rewrite Illinois maps. Fight!
They should. Remove every single Republican from their seats. Period. They are all supporting fascism.
DO IT. This is war, no time for let’s not “sink low."
This needs to be done if we have any chance to return to a constitutional democracy. Get dems back in control and then create rules to end gerrymandering forever.
We are already paying for down state.
If we lose federalism, states lose democracy. If the GOP rigs the game at the federal level, blue states will be occupied and forced to support red states. The only way to prevent that outcome is to have Congress as a check on executive power
You need to do it, Governor. If you can, approach it the way California is.
DO IT PRITZKER save Democracy
Gerrymandering can be fixed. But not while Republicans are in charge, because they don’t care about people. Only power. Newsom stressed that his action is temporary - to buy time until we can make district maps independent from politics.
He's a white man and he plainly said, "its not something I want to do..", even tho, we have felons in authority. When they show you who they are the first time, believe it. Politicians lying on TV should be illegal and against the law.
Great job @govpritzker.illinois.gov The mainstream media asking questions as if we’re in normal times, yet choosing to ignore Trump and his regime are laying the groundwork for subverting the 2026 Midterm Election in real time, in broad daylight. Disregarding the obvious makes the media complicit.
If you have time, read the (rather long) complete transcript of the interview to see just how CBS has completely changed the tone of Pritzger's responses. The CBS content monitor must already be on edit duty. www.cbsnews.com/news/jb-prit...
Gobsmacked. @cbsnews.com and Ed O’Keefe should be ashamed of themselves. It didn't appear to be a fact-based journalistic interview; it conducted with @govpritzker.illinois.gov. I’m unsure what it was other than a politically motivated hit piece. SHAMEFUL! www.cbsnews.com/news/jb-prit...
The state of Misery (MO) is about to do the same as TX. As I said before, TX is taking 5 seats, CA should have taken more than 5, maybe take 7. MO about to do the same? IL should take more than what MO will take. Always two up em. The GOP has been badly gerrymandering for years. Why stop at even?
Another state tries? NY can do the same. Another poor ass red state will try? WA, OR and CO can follow suit. Let’s fucking go!
Yes, Pritzker! Just like Texas was already horribly gerrymandered before this year. Can Texas become even less democratic and more gerrymandered? They've proved they can. Should California, Illinois, and other blue states respond in kind? Absolutely.
What’s the average grade of red states and average of blue states for “good government“ anti-gerrymandering?
Do it anyway!
